The Macdonald Family

The discovery of tumors lead the Macdonald family to seek specialized treatment for their daughters healthcare concerns at Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary.  Travel to and from their home in Northern B.C. became costly in a hurry.  With help from Northern B.C. Friends of Children Society the Macdonald’s were able to access affordable travel and accommodation so that they could be by Nikki’s side every step of the way.  Nikki is a resilient young woman who excels in school and exceeds her grade level at both reading and spelling.  Now there’s a hero!

Jillane's Birthday

A lesson in love. We were overwhelmed when Jillane and her family contacted Friends of Children to see if donations could be made to our organization's Endowment Fund in lieu of birthday gifts. With ample presents to be supplied as usual from Jillane's large and caring family, this was a wonderful opportunity to let Jillane and her birthday party comrades explore the gift of giving. We're proud of you Jillane and thrilled your party was a blast!
